Fifty Shades of Grey
E L James
Series: Fifty Shades Trilogy – #1
Release Date: May 25th 2011
Genre/s: Contemporary Romance, Erotic Fiction
Progress: 312/354 pages
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her too – but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family – Grey is a man tortured by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
Erotic, amusing and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you and stay with you forever.
What I think so far: First off I have to say that this is a reread and a re-review. The first review is here, but it’s before my book review blogging days. Secondly I’m doing this post a tad to late as I just realized I’m almost finished the book and will probably finish it after this post so I can work on another. I’m currently enjoying it, there is something to be said about reading a book twice, you pick up on other things the second time round. I find myself giggling at points and really connecting with the main character Anastasia.
What I don’t like so far: There isn’t anything that I don’t like so far and since I’m close to the end I don’t see there being anything major. There was a scene or two where I rolled my eyes. But nothing outstandingly bad.
